Airport Philadelphia International Airport is located seven miles from downtown Philadelphia and provides both international and domestic services for one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States. Philadelphia International Airport currently has five terminals (A-E). Each is served by several airlines which fly to a wide range of domestic and international destinations. Each terminal has a good selection of shops, banks, restaurants, bars and ATM machines. Specific airlines also have club lounges in the appropriate terminal. Car rental information is available at all baggage claim areas. All rental cars may be collected at zone 2, outside the baggage claim area. Companies that serve Philadelphia International Airport are: Alamo Rent A Car, Avis Rent-A-Car, Budget Rent A Car, Dollar, Hertz Corporation and National Car Rental. Philadelphia International Airport has a comprehensive ground transportation service. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) runs rail and bus services to the city, rail and bus stations. Shuttle buses, taxis and limousines are also available from baggage claim areas. |

| Airport Facilities Money and communications: ATMs can be found on the main concourse of each terminal and bureaux de change are available in Terminals A, B, C and D. Postal services are available in both the A-B and C-D terminal links. Eating and drinking: There are many restaurants and cafés situated throughout the airport. Philadelphia Marketplace, located in the terminal B-C connector, features 34 shops and eateries. Shopping: In addition to the shops in Philadelphia Marketplace, duty-free shopping is available in terminals A and C. Other facilities: Airport facilities also include Mercy Careport (Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital) which provides emergency medical and immunization services, the latter by appointment, on a daily basis. There is also an hospitality service for passengers stranded during emergencies. Driving Directions From Philadelphia city centre, take Interstate 95 (I-95) south to the Philadelphia International Airport exit or take 76 east, following signs for the airport. From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take the Mid-County exit (Route 476), then take 476 south (Chester) to I-95, and I-95 north to the airport exit. From the New Jersey Turnpike, take exit 3 to the Walt Whitman Bridge. After the toll plaza, stay in the far right lane and take I-95 south to the airport exit. From Delaware, take I-95 north to the airport exit. Public Transport Rail: Train: SEPTA's R1 high speed rail line provides a service between each terminal and central Philadelphia (journey time: approximately 20 minutes), with trains departing every 30 minutes 0600-0000. SEPTA (tel: 215 580 7800 or TDD: 215 580 7712) also provides transport to Amtrak's 30th Street Station and the Greyhound Bus Terminal. Road: Taxi: Taxis are available 24 hours a day and cost a flat rate to the city centre; there is also a shuttle van/limousine service. |
